How to Flag an Email Message

Sometimes we need to act upon an email that we receive, but can’t do it right now. In Outlook, we can create a flag to remind us about the message at a later date.

  1. While looking at your list of emails, find the email you want to flag.
  2. On the right hand side of that email is a flag button (it looks like a flower). Put your cursor over the button and right click. A menu will appear.
  3. Choose a color for your flag
  4. Right click again and choose “Add Reminder…” A dialog box will appear.

  5. Using the drop down arrows, choose a “Due by” date and time, then click OK.
  6. At the time and date you selected, a Dialog box will appear as a reminder

Note: If you are reading an email and want to add a reminder at that time, the flag button is also available on the tool bar.
